Public Safety Garage

Tommy Metcalf

The department uses a take home car fleet program for officers who live within a five mile radius of the city limits. Officers who live within this area are allowed to drive their cars back and forth to work and within the city limits when off duty. The fleet is maintained by the Public Safety Garage, which keep our fleet of over 50 vehicles running safely. They are also responsible for installation of all the emergency equipment needed in each vehicle. They are on call 24 hours a day for emergency repair of the police units. The Elizabethtown Police Department fleet averages approximately 630,000 miles per year. They are also responsible for maintenance of the Elizabethtown Fire Department trucks and the emergency equipment carried on the units.
