A Message from the Chief

Police Department

On behalf of the men and women of the Elizabethtown Police Department, I welcome you to our website. Our police department consists of dedicated employees whose mission is:

"The mission of the Elizabethtown Police Department is to provide quality service to the citizens of Elizabethtown."

In order to fulfill this mission, we subscribe to a service-minded philosophy underpinned with a focus on problem-solving, partnership building and the highest level of professional and personal integrity. Each employee strives daily to build trust and gain the support of the citizens we are sworn to serve in order to provide a safe and prosperous community. Chief Tracy A. Schiller


During Chief Schiller's twenty-five year law enforcement career, he served with the Shelbyville Police Department, Shelbyville, KY, where he served as the Assistant Chief. Chief Schiller also served with the Louisville Division of Police, Louisville, KY, and the Louisville Metro Police Department after merger, where he retired as Major and Assistant Chief in 2003. Chief Schiller was appointed Chief of Elizabethtown on August 15, 2011.

Chief Schiller holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute's Administrative Officer's Course and the FBI National Academy Session #200.
